As announced earlier today, the GDP for Q4 is up by 0.6% which is higher than anticipated. A solid performance considering the predictions post Brexit. However, it’s the service industry that seems to be performing particularly well and that backs up our company results which saw a 300% revenue increase on the previous year.
Although we service many industries a high proportion of our key clients are in the Hospitality and Hair & Beauty industries and their performance meant we last year we had a lot of exciting conversations mature into order forms.
Brexit did, however, hit our bottom line as we do import services from the US. Although we have been intelligent enough to respond and we’ve taken advantage of the pound falling and attacked international markets – post Brexit we’ve won our first US deal and begun working in India, we’ve also had initial conversations with the Australia and New Zealand banking group and we’re currently speaking with the UK’s largest employer around monatising eLearning for the Chinese market. Its fair to say these conversations wouldn’t have happened without Brexit, we’re now more competitive and affordable internationally and we’ve seen that as a direct result of businesses finding and contacting us. This really is new teratory for eLamb.
As mentioned back in September the Darlington economy itself has performed incredibly well in 2016 – growing at 8.9%, the 2nd fast growing in the country, out pacing London, Manchester and Birmingham and more than twice the national average of 3.4%.It’s fair to say that for eLamb 2017 looks bright!
